This year, The First Tee of the Triangle is again proud to partner with theRex Hospital Open as we work to provide volunteers during the weekend of this year’s Web.com tournament.
On June 2nd and 3rd, we will be tasked with providing upwards of 60 volunteers to serve as Standard Bearers during the tournament. Standard Bearing is a significant role at a golf tournament, and provides a unique opportunity to a junior, their parent, and/or volunteer to walk INSIDE THE ROPES with Web.com tour players! New this year, there will be no charge for participants OR parents to volunteer for the tournament.
To register as a volunteer (both parents and participants) use the link above and enter the registration code “firsttee”. You will be provided a “The First Tee of the Triangle” t-shirt at no cost. Parents that are accompanying children are required to register and both will need to indicate they wish to work with each other. The tournament also needs walking scorers. Families with children old enough to carry the standard themselves (see below for more info), should consider volunteering as a walking scorer and putting a note in the appropriate section of the form that you should be paired with your child!
Age Requirements & Qualifications:
All Standard Bearers must be at least 14 years of age. They must also have the strength and endurance to carry the ‘standard’ (Score Sign) for 18 holes. This could take over 4 hours and could be in a variety of weather conditions including extreme heat.
Note: Children ages 9-13 can ‘assist’ with standard bearer duties. They must be supervised by an adult. The adult is ultimately responsible for bearing the sign and the other duties associated with being a standard bearer.
